Position Purpose:

  • The Advisor is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the MD Buyline database for their assigned product areas. They will assimilate and analyze detailed information to identify opportunities for cost reductions, competitive vendor insight, and standardization as well as perform business analytics. This position requires collaboration with subject matter experts, advisors, and managers and demands the capability to meet rigorous deadlines and balance multiple priorities to achieve high levels of productivity.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an Associate Advisor required
  • Previous medical experience preferred

Licenses & Certifications Desired:

  • Nursing and/or Allied Health certification a plus
  • Healthcare supply chain, contract management and/or data management experience a plus

Competencies & Work Style:

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines
  • Must be self-motivated with accountability and ownership of work
  • Possess sound deductive reasoning skills
  • Must have high level of attention to detail
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Author articles identifying key issues and trends in the market
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to perform complex analyses
  • Research medical products and services
  • Collaborate with other service lines on a variety of ongoing projects
  • Consult with clients to understand business needs and develop appropriate recommendations
  • Develop relationships with vendors to understand market trends and emerging technologies
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • This job operates in a clerical, office setting
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones
  • This position does require travel up to an estimated 10%
  • This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Central Standard Time.
