Position Purpose: 

  • The Clinical Research Analyst is a key contributor to the TractManager organization, conducting research and generating reports on a range of new and evolving healthcare technologies, including devices, procedures, and pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing literature searches, gathering and synthesizing data, and writing reports. Assignments may vary depending upon product team, market segment, clinical area, and need. 

 

Education & Experience: 

  • Graduate level training (MS, MSc, MPH, PhD or ScD) or equivalent expertise in epidemiology, health sciences, nursing, pharmacology, or some other area of biological sciences applicable to clinical medicine
  • Strong scientific background and knowledge of clinical trial and other study designs, biostatistics, epidemiology, biomedical terminology, and clinical medicine  
  • Prior successful experience in performing horizon scanning and/or writing brief reports on new/emerging technologies  
  • Extensive experience in information-seeking, including the following channels as applicable to the product portfolio'grey literature, published biomedical literature, news outlets, industry and professional organization websites, regulatory databases, and medical bibliographic databases 
  • Some clinical experience in the hospital setting and/or in a hospital consulting role preferred  

 

Licenses & Certifications Desired: 

  • Clinical licensure/certification (RN/MSN, NP, PA, PharmD, etc.) preferred.  

 

Competencies & Work Style: 

  • Excellent analytical skills; ability to critique medical information and published scientific materials with a high degree of skill and interpret implications for clients in all market segments; Occasionally perform full text literature reviews, evaluating complex clinical trial data, synthesizing and summarizing clinical findings.   
  • Adept at understanding FDA regulatory pathways and processes, Medicare national coverage determinations, and third-party reimbursement issues. 
  • Skilled in terminology and knowledgeable of methods relevant to epidemiology, clinical medicine, and healthcare outcomes research. 
  • Skilled in performing comprehensive literature searches of all appropriate databases. 
  • Excellent writing skills; ability to communicate well in the English language, including excellent grammar and spelling; synthesize complex findings and summarize them clearly in a standardized report template. 
  • Ability to work well independently and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to contribute in a team setting. 
  • Ability to grow, manage, and thrive through change.  
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry preferred; curiosity about client and prospect needs (in all channels and market segments). 
  • Proactive, effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary; ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams as well as to engage as part of a remote team. 
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and time management skills to manage projects; works within budgets and schedules with flexibility and creatively mitigate risks. 
  • Exceptional proficiency with basic computer applications (specifically Microsoft Office 2010 or above'Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); ability to manage files and work comfortably within a digital environment.  
  • Self-directed learner (takes responsibility for addressing specific knowledge gaps as needed to ensure optimal job performance). 
  • Persistence/patience (tasks associated with this job may require meticulous attention to detail). 
  • Passion for helping our clients improve healthcare outcomes. 

 

Responsibilities & Essential Functions: 

  • Searching Electronic Databases and Internet Resources: Conduct a comprehensive search of biomedical literature databases; outline parameters of the database searches with special emphasis on keywords, cross-references, and selection criteria; search multiple databases when appropriate to ensure maximum coverage 
  • Study Selection: Able to identify the best available evidence using the appropriate study selection criteria that will answer the client question; select studies with the strongest study design, such as well-controlled studies with clinically meaningful endpoints published in the peer-reviewed medical literature for analysis 
  • Preparation of Reports:  Author reports according to relevant SOPs, product template, and the appropriate style guide for the product; completion of reports within specified timeframe.  Manage deadlines for reports; if applicable, identify graphics and prepare graphic request forms; interact with content editors, tech editors, and production support 
  • Document and Record Maintenance: Transfer documents and maintain thorough records that relate to production of reports (including all decisions related to study selection). 

 

Additional Responsibilities: 

Additional responsibilities that may be assigned as determined by the Product Manager or Hayes leadership will include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Support Client Services--Work with Client Services staff to assist with response to inquiries regarding product-specific reports in the knowledge center.  
  • Custom reports or projects for specific clients in the payer, provider, or government market as needed 
  • Development of, presentation, and/or participation in educational webinars and/or Jour Fixe topics 
  • Participation in product enhancement and/or new product development initiatives 
  • Support for the Sales, Marketing, Account Services, and/or Client Services teams 
  • Contribution to proposal development 
  • Participation in collaborative and cross-functional committees or working groups as needed 

  

Work Environment & Physical Demands: 

  • This is a full-time, salaried position. 
  • This job operates in a remote office-based setting 
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment  
  • This position does not typically require travel (minimal, if any, travel required)
